It is sad reality today that
even a school charging its legitimate educational expenses
is out of reach for a large section of our society. At the
same time it is important that a school be financially
self-sustaining and not dependent on donations of any kind
or support which may undermine its autonomy. Nalanda's
strategy in the face of this dilemma is to charge fees
corresponding to the legitimate educational expenses from
every student but also provide financial assistance to a
section of the students who require it.
The main objective of giving
Financial Assistance is to bridge the gap for the needy
students, so that they can avail the opportunity of studying
in Nalanda International School. Financial Assistance
offered to a student will be reviewed annually based on the
financial condition of the student's family, the interest
taken by the parents in the child's education and on the
performance of the child. Nalanda is creating a fund to
partially subsidise the fees for students who are unable to
afford the full amount. Financial Assistance is purely
need-based and may vary from 25% to 100% of the total fees,
at the sole discretion of the Foundation.
