At Nalanda, creativity is nurtured not as an “extra activity,” but as an essential part of growing up. Through music, dance, dramatics, woodwork, visual arts, and hands-on creative experiences, children learn to express emotions, communicate ideas, collaborate with others, and see the world with imagination and originality.

In these spaces, children slowly discover that joy of creativity and the freedom to think differently.

Dramatics

The stage has a quiet way of
transforming children.

A hesitant child slowly begins speaking louder. A nervous performer learns confidence beneath stage lights. A group of students learns how ideas become stories through collaboration, rehearsal, creativity, and trust.

At Nalanda, dramatics encourages children to think imaginatively, communicate expressively, work together meaningfully, and discover the power of storytelling as both art and self-expression.

Woodwork

There is something deeply satisfying about shaping raw material into something meaningful.

In Nalanda's Wood Workshop, all students of Classes 5 to 8 learn the beauty of patience, precision, craftsmanship, and process. Under guided supervision, children gradually transform wood into objects shaped by imagination, focus, and skill.

The workshop nurtures creativity while also teaching discipline, concentration, problem-solving, and the quiet pride that comes from creating something tangible with one's own hands.

Art & Craft

The Art Rooms at Nalanda are more than creative spaces. They are a world where imagination feels limitless.

Through colours, textures, sketches, forms, and experimentation, students are encouraged to express emotions, ideas, memories, and perspectives freely and fearlessly.

Here, creativity is celebrated not for perfection, but for authenticity, exploration, and self-expression.

Kitchen Gardening

Where little seeds grow into big lessons.

In the Kitchen Garden, students experience the joy of planting, nurturing, waiting, observing, and harvesting. Through this hands-on relationship with nature, children develop patience, responsibility, environmental awareness and a deeper understanding of where nourishment truly begins.

As they care for saplings, they watch diverse crops such as brinjal, spinach, fenugreek, carrot, tomatoes, cauliflower, beans, cabbage, chillies, coriander, lemongrass, coconut, papaya, lemon, onions, bottle gourd and snake gourd grow.

The garden becomes a gentle reminder that growth, whether in plants or people, depends on time, care, balance and the environment that sustains it.

Dance

Dance allows children to express what words sometimes cannot.

From the grace of classical forms like Bharatanatyam and Kathak to the energy and dynamism of contemporary dance, students at Nalanda are encouraged to explore rhythm, movement, discipline, and performance with confidence and joy.

The Dance Room becomes a space where talent is nurtured, confidence blossoms, and children slowly discover the beauty of expression through movement.

Music

Music gives children a language of harmony, melody, and emotion.

From the intricate taals of the Tabla to the versatility of the Guitar, Drums and Keyboards, students at Nalanda are encouraged to explore different instruments, discover their musical interests, and develop an ear for rhythm and harmony.

The Music Class is where creativity finds its rhythm, confidence grows through practice, and children discover the joy of creating music together.
